I gotta tell ya, the Holiday RV Park was an all right park. The spaces were decent, gravel with plenty of room between them and the park handles big rigs really well. It was easy to get to Interstate and easy to get to places in North Platte, NE. Pretty unassuming and it seems like it’s right in the middle of town, but it’s set up in such a way that you don’t feel like you’re in town.
This is a Good Sam park, so if you’re a Good Sam member, you’ll get a nice little discount. Prices were reasonable, the park was clean and well attended but what really made it special was the people. Pads were gravel, but picnic tables were set on cement.
We had an issue with our Tow, Larry. Well, Larry decided for some reason that he wasn’t going to start, he had drained his battery! Well, we normally have a battery charger all set up and ready to go but we let some friends borrow it, and they forgot to turn it off, so our battery charger was also drained.
What to do? What to do? And here come the camp hosts to the rescue. They had a battery charger they let us use to get Larry started. Yippee!! From there we figured out what caused Larry to drain his battery – he’s an old guy, and you have to remember to turn off the radio and when you turn him off or the radio keeps playing and playing and playing until the battery dies. Live and learn, right?
So, Larry was happy, Myles was happy, the dogs were happy, and we were happy too. We only stayed one night because we were on our way to Colorado Springs to meet family. It was a nice place to stay and the prices were good, place was clean and people were nice. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Stay safe and keep making those memories.
