Campground Review – Custer’s Gulch RV Park

We stayed 4 nights in Custer’s Gulch RV Park in Custer SD, right next to Custer State Park.  We were pretty happy with this park, the price was reasonable and if you’re a Good Sam member you’ll get the Good Sam Discount.  The spaces are large enough for the biggest of RVs and they are also very well spaced out so you don’t feel like you’re right on top of your neighbor.

It’s located right next to Custer State Park and right outside the city limits of the city of Custer.  Because of it’s location it’s a very convenient place to stay while visiting Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Lead, Sturgis, and the numerous other exciting things to do in the Black Hills – hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and ATVing.

The nice part about Custer’s Gulch is they rent both cars and ATVs.  If you’ve never gone ATVing, it’s pretty fun and they have ATVs that seat 4 people.  Plus, you can hit an ATV trail right from their location. Buffalo Run

Restrooms and laundry rooms are clean. The staff we interacted with were nice and accommodating.  We had only reserved two nights and they were very helpful when we decided we wanted to spend another night.   It was big enough for the dogs and we had plenty of areas to walk the dogs.

All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and we enjoyed ourselves.  We’d definitely stay there again!

Stay safe and keep making those memories.
